ProQuest

Oren Beit-Arie oversees the continuing development of ProQuest’s long-term enterprise strategy. Working in close partnership with leaders across the organization, he supports the development and launch of critical initiatives, through the introduction of innovation, new products and partnerships. Oren brings a wealth of experience in operations, product management and strategy. He was one of the primary developers of the ANSI/NISO Z39.88 (OpenURL) standard and has led the development of SFX link-resolver and a range of other solutions in the realm of electronic scholarly resources, including bX, a usage-based article recommender. In his recent role as Chief Strategy Officer for Ex Libris, Oren focused on strategic developments and new product initiatives. He led the vision and creation of the company’s cloud-SaaS strategy, the Primo discovery solution, Alma – the next-generation library services platform and most recently Esploro, the newly developed research services platform. Oren earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and computer science from The Hebrew University and a master’s degree in theoretical linguistics from Tel Aviv University. He is based in Boston, MA.
