Anurag Acharya

Google

Anurag Acharya is a distinguished engineer at Google. He is a co-creator of Google Scholar. Previously, he led the web indexing group at Google. He has a bachelor’s in computer science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur and a Ph.D. in computer science from Carnegie Mellon. Prior to joining Google, he was a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Maryland, College Park and an assistant professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Jan has spent his professional career in tech startups, online businesses, professional information services, and digital media. Together with his co-founders, he was awarded “European Founders of the Year 2013” by TechCrunch / The Europas. His focus is on emerging digital companies, online business strategy, as well as digital publishing, education, and information services sitting between B2C and B2B. After working as an advisor to the supervisory board of SAP, he started Mendeley (together with two co-founders), which was acquired by Reed Elsevier in April 2013. He then started Kopernio, a platform to help millions of researchers to access academic journal articles with one click. Kopernio was acquired by Clarivate Analytics in 2018.

With experience as a managing director of large organizations, Pickering has managed both strategic planning and execution of multiple $ billion product lines. Ruth’s experience spans from media technology and telecommunications to AI, where prior toYewno, she served as managing director of BT Wholesale; was one of the Global Telecoms Business top 40 under 40 in 2010, and was shortlisted for ‘Woman of the Year in Technology in 2011.
