Anna Salt Troise

American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons

Anna Salt Troise is the Chief Education Strategist for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Anna directs all of the Academy’s education and peer reviewed publishing activities, as well as its newly implemented strategy. Before her time at the Academy, Anna served as Vice President, Medical and Open Access Publishing at Wolters Kluwer where she managed the U.S., U.K. and European medical journal publishing program. She also oversaw the business activities for more than 150 proprietary and society medical journals as well as the editorial and business strategies for various medical societies. Prior to joining Wolters Kluwer, she held executive positions at Nature Publishing Group and John Wiley & Sons, and has served as keynote speaker and panelist at various conferences within the publishing industry to discuss the trends and future of medical and academic publishing. Anna has a bachelor’s degree from Bates College and a master’s degree in business administration from New York University’s Stern School of Business.

Michael Clarke

Michael Clarke is the Managing Partner at Clarke & Esposito, a boutique management consulting firm focused on strategic issues related to professional and scholarly publishing. He is also a partner at STM Advisers, an advisory practice focusing on mergers and acquisitions in the STM marketplace. Michael serves on the Silverchair board of directors.

Mike Mutka

Straightaway Health Careers / Relias

Mike is Chief Executive Officer of Straightaway Health Careers. As part of the original management team, Mike helped launch Silverchair Learning Systems in 2005 and served as President of Silverchair until it became part of Relias in 2012. He also currently serves as Chief Innovation Officer at Relias. Prior to Silverchair, Mike held executive leadership positions at the Hill-Rom Company, Berchtold Corporation, and Briggs Healthcare and has extensive experience in new product development, sales and marketing management, strategic planning, and Kaizen continuous improvement methodology.

Paul Gee brings experience in both the society world and commercial publishing. He leads product management, development, and digital marketing for the AMA Ed Hub and JAMA Network, home of JAMA and the JAMA Network specialty journals. Paul learned the ropes of publishing through time in editorial and production, along with time as journals publisher. He is a certified six sigma process engineer who brings to digital development a unique mix of editorial and process focus along with business model strategy.
